Echelon Knoxx is one to look out for. With his witty lyrics and smooth hip-hop flow, he manages to capture the daily stories of a Christian in his music. What makes it stand out is, it’s his personal story, but 100 percent relatable.
Back in February, the Washington, D.C. native released Gold, a 7-track EP he says is just a reflection of his journey. The title comes from a flip on the materialistic metal:
“Me and my team understand that [there’s] something greater than this gold right here,” he said pointing at his chain in an exclusive interview with GospelGoodies.com. “It’s that relationship with Jesus Christ. We consider that relationship alone as gold. We consider that more valuable than anything in life.”
Below, Echelon Knoxx discusses growing up in the nation’s capital, how he got introduced to the music industry and ministry, the making of his Gold EP and what he hopes people gain from listening to it.
