Deitrick Haddon and Michelle Williams had a lot of work on their hands in the premiere episode of Oxygen’s Fix My Choir on November 5.
The two took their expertise and talents to the Harmonistic Praise Crusade (HPC) choir in New Orleans, where tension between the choir members was at a boiling level. Haddon and Williams were able to take over the situation, but it didn’t get resolved without a struggle. It took a little one-on-one counseling for three members to put themselves aside and act in a way that was best for the choir (one member questioned the singers’ ability to step in and really fix the choir), but they fulfilled their mission in getting the choir together to successfully perform their own rendition of Kanye West’s “Jesus Walks.”
In addition to their new show, Haddon and Williams also recently collaborated on a track with Tyler Ward and Fresh Big Mouf. They call it “Rather Be” and have released the video below:
Catch Fix My Choir every Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET on Oxygen.
