New music alert! Kasaundra Shields‘ got a word for the gift of peace in her debut single, “Hey Joy,” featuring Billboard-charting violinist Chelsey Green. The song is an uplifting track about snatching back the joy we sometimes forget we were promised. And with her first single, follows her first video and first EP coming soon. It’s a very exciting time for the Baltimore native who purely seeks joy and hope it spreads.
“[Hey Joy] is an uplifting and encouraging soundtrack to the motivational speech we all give ourselves each morning before tackling the day,” Grammy-nominated singer Maimouna Youssef says. “It is hope in darkness, Kasaundra Shields makes the gospel genre accessible to the everyday man.”
Shields will release her first official project under Youssef’s MKY Entertainment music group. In addition to singing, she also ministers under the tutelage of Prophet Jorah Kiah of Destiny’s Door Global Ministry in Maryland.
While her diverse style is infused with gospel, pop, hiphop, country and more, her creative gene extends to songwriting, producing and graphic design as well. Combined, it’s all evident in her newest release.
