He addressed his upbringing in his first album good kid, m.A.A.d. city, systematical problems in his second album To Pimp a Butterfly, and a little bit of everything on his untitled unmastered. project full of unreleased music. His next album, he says, will focus on a higher power.
It won’t be a gospel rap album, but it will acknowledge how God orchestrates everything around us.
“I’m in a space now where I’m not addressing the problem anymore,” he told New York Times. “We’re in a time where we exclude one major component out of this whole thing called life: God. Nobody speaks on it because it’s almost in conflict with what’s going on in the world when you talk about politics and government and the system.”
