Bobby Jones Gospel, the longest running original series in the history of cable television, will no longer air after this season, BET announced last week.
After 35 years on air, 75-year-old Bobby Jones will depart with memorable farewell episodes featuring “gospel music’s most talented entertainers, choirs, evangelists, and newcomers appearing to wish Dr. Bobby Jones well wishes.”
Jones hopes to continue to work with the network following his series finale in other gospel areas including “Celebration of Gospel.”
