National Geographic is preparing to release a 3-hour religious sequel to it’s “Killing” series that’s featured Presidents Lincoln and Kennedy.
In this new edition of “Killing Jesus,” the network plans to focus less on the purpose of Jesus’ life to Christians and more on “the historical story of how Jesus’ message and preachings led to his persecution and execution by a group of conspirators who saw him as a threat to their power,” NatGeo explained in a press release.
It’s based on the best-selling book by Bill O’Reilly and Martin Dugard. And the part of Jesus, ironically, is played by Lebanese and Muslim-raised actor Haaz Sleiman.
“Killing Jesus” premieres Palm Sunday, March 29 at 8 p.m. ET on the National Geographic Channel.
