Have you ever been so tired you nodded off in church? Comedian Akintunde released a funny song for repeat offenders, even offering tips on how to stay awake.
The brand new single is fittingly called, “Please Stop Sleeping In Church,” and it’s available on all digital music platforms, but the laughs don’t stop there.
“Please Stop Sleeping In Church” is a part of Akintunde’s comedy album, Because I Said So, dropping in April. There’s a video for it (see below) and he’s headed on tour, too!
When we asked for his thoughts on it taking off like Lil Duval’s “Smile (Living My Best Life)” at Stellar Awards 2019, Akintunde shared the story of how he wasn’t even aware of Duval’s song until he brought his idea to a producer. While the obvious difference in the two songs is church – Akintunde’s song is led by a quartet beat and theme – he said he does hope the comedic song goes viral and reaches a new group of people.
