The Showers Revisit the Scene of their Recent House Fire for Music Video

Sometimes healing takes facing the hurt head on. The Showers do just that in their latest video for “I Need You Lord,” the lead single off their sophomore album due Fall 2017.

Back in March, the singing family lost their home to a fire and this month, they released a music video from when they revisited the scene. It was where Pastor Bobby R. Showers Sr. and his wife raised their 10 children and were currently living with three of their children and two grandchildren.

Watch their testimony below:

While the music video for “I Need You Lord” was directed by Terrance Crowley, the lyrics come from group member Titus Showers, Sr. and Tasha Page Lockhart who also produced the song with Bruce Robinson, Jr.

I must say that when I heard this song on the radio, I was so moved. It spoke to me and my pain and anguish in life. I felt inspired, connected and thanked the God my understanding for yet another beautiful soliloquy of my Faith and the endurance of man. BUT, after searching awhile and finally finding out who created this song and seeing the video, I’m sorry but it was a let down. It seemed fake. Disingenuous. People/family acting, using legitimate pain perhaps trying to make a buck. Maybe its ME and I don’t partake in discussions and such but whoever reads this…sorry but for me, the video was not inspiring and I can’t and won’t watch it again. Great song though and I will keep it in my archives. It will actually be front and center for awhile because it IS a great testimony and something I need today that was just delivered in an unappealing way..
