Did the Charleston Shooting Encourage Arson in 3 Other Churches?

Approximately six predominately black churches in four southern states have been damaged by fire over the past week, three of which reports say are the result of possible hate crimes by arsonists. The news comes just one week after the tragic shooting of nine praying church members at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, SC.

The three confirm arson cases happened day-after-day starting with at College Hills Seventh Day Adventist Church in Knoxsville, TN on June 22. God’s Power Church of Christ in Macon, GA and Briar Creek Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC fell victim next.

State officials are investigating the fires to determine the exact causes and motive.
