Jim Parsons, also known as Shelton Cooper in The Big Bang Theory, has been cast to play God in a new Broadway play called “An Act of God,” which is based on David Javerbaum’s 2011 book, The Last Testament: A Memoir By God.
“An Act of God” was written by @TheTweetOfGod twitter user who has almost 2 million followers and sets out to answer questions we never really know the answer to. And while the comedic play is full of satire and irony (Parsons is openly gay – no judgement zone!), Javerbaum told the New York Daily News that it was not meant to “undercut” God.
Catch it on Broadway at Studio 54 now through August 2.
