Shout out to new love.
Dr. Jamal Bryant and R&B singer Tweet announced their relationship on a recent episode of The Preachers, where the pastors sat down with their first ladies — Bryant introduced Tweet as his “last lady.”
The two met a year ago in New York City.
“I was walking through Times Square, going to an Oprah Winfrey movie premiere, and I bumped into R&B singer, Tweet, who is my absolute favorite female singer in the world,” Bryant said reflecting on how he met his lady. “I pulled an Orrick [Pastor Quick] move and asked for a picture. And we have grown into an incredible friendship.”
Tweet, who recently returned to music after a 10-year hiatus, said the hardest part about dating Bryant is dealing with church folks who criticize her R&B music career (as if she’s not fitting to love a pastor) and women who said God said they were Bryant’s girlfriend. Contrary to what the naysayers believe, the singer/songwriter’s relationship with God is pretty evident in the way she carries herself.
#GospelGoodies: Tweet’s latest album ‘Charlene’ features an inspirational track called “I Was Created For This,” and last month she revealed that she was working on a gospel album (a gospelgoodies.com exclusive).
