Travis Greene Preps Launch of ‘Forward City’ Church in South Carolina

Travis Greene and his family are gearing up to launch a new church in downtown Columbia, SC called Forward City.

The gospel crooner shared his excitement on Instagram noting an August launch date.

“Forward City just started having public gatherings this year, however, we’ve been pouring into leaders and training for almost two years now. God has really surrounded us with people who are like-minded who sacrifice and go as hard as we do,” he told JET magazine back in May. “It’s a huge honor to lead them. We’re really passionate about the college ministry at Forward City, too. It’s probably one of our major outreach initiatives.”

Greene, who met his wife in a college ministry at their Georgia Southern University alma mater, remembers how much his life changed through college ministry.

“Knowing those vulnerable years of college, it really inspired us to want to make a difference on college campuses here in Columbia South Carolina and abroad,” he said. “August 21st is our official launch where we will shift to Sunday services. Right now, we meet on Mondays at the Agape Conference Center in downtown Columbia. But, [we’d] been in prayer about finding a permanent location somewhere downtown where we can continue reaching the college students.”

So glad to find this page. My grandson, Josiah Smith,10 years-old, had to do a project in art class. He goes to public School in Cope, SC. They had a list of artist they could pick from to do a life’s story. The list had many secular artists and he remarked, “Nana, so many of these people made songs with ugly lyrics! I don’t want to do a project on them. It would not please God.” (He is a Christian and definitely a member of God’s army!) We searched the names and found your name on the list. He was overjoyed when we pulled you up on the internet and learned so much how you tell the gospel through your music. He will be giving his presentation at school next week on Friday, and is excited to share his faith in class! Thank you for living for the Lord! God bless you, my brother!
