“To my entire Rams family, especially my teammates, fans & peers I thank you so much for your continued prayers and support,” St. Louis Rams’ Stedman Bailey, Jr. shared on Twitter last week (December 4).

The NFL player suffered two bullets to his head during an ambush in Miami on November 24 and has been in the hospital recovering since. He’d been on a four-game suspension prior for violating the league’s substance abuse policy, but St. Louis Rams coach Jeff Fisher recently told reporters his career might be over due to the recent news. Based on his recovery thus far though, “he might surprise everybody.”

“My recovery has been nothing short of a miracle (a work of God) and I can only give God the praise, glory and honor for which he is doing in my life at this time,” Bailey wrote.

He said God gave him and his family a gift far greater than any gift from man this holiday season, and that was his life and health.

Prayers up for a speedy and painless recovery!
